San Antonio police officer David McCall turned himself in Thursday after a magistrate judge issued an arrest warrant for a charge of driving while intoxicated, department officials said. McCall, an 18-year veteran of the force, has been under investigation for suspicion of drunk driving since he was involved in a single-vehicle crash on the afternoon of Tuesday, Aug. 5, according to an SAPD statement. While off duty, the 58-year-old reportedly plowed into the front yard of a house on the 3400 block of Coryell Cove in far West Bexar County.
